For businesses using Cleo PayUpdated

Browse help topics

To schedule a payment, pay the bill from your linked bank and turn on Schedule for Later, then pick a date. You can pick any day from tomorrow up to 90 days ahead. The payment goes out at 9:00 AM ET on that day, and the normal arrival time starts from then.

How to schedule

  1. Click Pay in the sidebar, find the bill and click Pay.
  2. Under Bank Account, pick your linked bank. The schedule option doesn't appear for your Cleo Pay balance.
  3. Turn on Schedule for Later.
  4. Under Payment Date, pick a day.
  5. Click Pay.

You'll see "Payment scheduled", and the bill's status changes to Payment Scheduled.

Where the money comes fromYour linked bank only

The date you pick is when the payment starts, not when it arrives. From your linked bank, the vendor gets the money 2 to 3 business days after that. See How long do Cleo Pay payments take?

You can't schedule:

  • A payment from your Cleo Pay balance. Balance payments go out right away.
  • A held payment, where the vendor hasn't accepted your invitation or added a bank yet.
  • A bulk payment. Schedule each bill on its own.

See your scheduled payments

In Pay, filter the list by the Payment Scheduled status. Open a bill to see its date.

Change the date

  1. Open the bill and click Edit Scheduled Date.
  2. Pick a new day under New Payment Date.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Cancel a scheduled payment

Open the bill and click Cancel Scheduled Payment, then Yes, cancel payment. Nothing is taken from your bank, and the bill goes back to Awaiting Payment. See How to cancel a payment.

If a scheduled payment doesn't go out

The payment is taken from your bank on the day. If your bank needs to be reconnected by then, the payment is marked failed with "Bank account requires re-authentication". Reconnect it and pay the bill again. See How to reconnect your bank account.

If a scheduled payment failed for another reason, email support@cleo-pay.com with the vendor name, the amount and the date it was scheduled for.
