What information do I need to provide during signup?

All vendors on the Cleo Pay platform will need to sign up using a tax ID number: either your Social Security Number if filing as an individual, or your EIN (Employer Identification Number) if you're registering as an LLC, C-Corp, S-Corp, or other entity. This ensures all payments are sent to verified businesses, whether you're self-employed as an independent contractor or a larger company. You'll also need to provide a mailing address so you can receive a 1099 form at year-end, and connect your bank account. We offer two options: Option 1 (Recommended): Sign in to your bank to link your account. Option 2: Manually enter your bank routing and account numbers.

How long does it take to receive my payment?

Accepted Answer

Once your invoice is submitted, the paying business receives a notification that it's ready for review. They'll approve your invoice and issue payment, and you'll be notified at each step. Timelines depend on the business and their accounting process. Once you're notified that payment has been initiated, the funds are deposited to your bank account by ACH. Businesses on Growth and higher plans can also send same-day payments.

Is there a fee for vendors to use Cleo Pay?

No. There is no cost to you as a vendor to receive payments through Cleo Pay. The business paying you covers all platform fees. You receive 100% of your payment amount.

Question 5

Will I receive a 1099 to file my taxes at the end of the year?

Accepted Answer

Yes. U.S. vendors paid at or above the IRS reporting threshold for the year will receive a 1099 form from the business that paid you. For payments made during 2026 that threshold is $2,000, up from $600 for 2025 and earlier. 1099 forms will be mailed out in January following the previous tax year and will also be available in your Cleo vendor portal. Not receiving a 1099 does not mean the income is tax free. All income you earn is taxable whether or not a form is issued, so keep your own records and talk to your accountant about how to report it.

Do I get access to a vendor portal to track payments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once your vendor account is created, you can see the status of all your invoices and payment requests. Once payments are made, you'll see whether the payment is processing or has been deposited to your bank account.

Question 7

What happens if a payment fails or is returned?

Accepted Answer

If a payment fails — for example, due to incorrect bank information — you will be notified immediately and can update your banking details in your vendor portal. Once corrected, the payment will be reprocessed.

Question 8

How do I update my bank account information?

Accepted Answer

You can update your banking information at any time through your vendor portal. Log in, navigate to your payment settings, and follow the prompts to sign in to your bank and link a new account, or enter your new account details manually.
