# How to pay many bills at once

> In Pay, tick the bills you want to pay and click Pay in the bar at the bottom. Pick a default source, change it for any bill if you need to, then click Pay All. Only bills that are awaiting payment can be paid this way.

To pay several bills in one go, click **Pay** in the sidebar, tick the bills you want, and click **Pay** in the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. Check the list, pick where the money comes from, and click **Pay All**. Each bill is paid as its own payment.

## Which bills can be paid together

Only bills with the status Awaiting Payment can go in a bulk payment. If your selection includes others, they're left out and you'll see how many were removed because they're not eligible.

Bills are also left out if a payment on them is already in progress, or if they still need categories. If nothing you picked can be paid, you'll see "No eligible payments in selection", "A payment is already in progress for the selected invoices" or "Add categories before paying selected invoices".

Bulk pay covers the bills you ticked on the page you're looking at. To pay more at once, raise **Rows per page** to 50 at the bottom of the list.

## How to pay

1. Click **Pay** in the sidebar.
2. Tick the box next to each bill you want to pay.
3. Click **Pay** in the bar at the bottom.
4. In "Review Payments", pick a source under **Default Bank Account**: your **Cleo Pay balance** or your linked bank.
5. To use a different source for one bill, change it in that bill's **Bank Account** column.
6. Check the total, then click **Pay All**. The button shows how many bills and the total amount.

## Things that can stop the payment

- If the bills you've put on your balance add up to more than you have, you'll see how much to move to another source. Switch some of them to your linked bank.
- A bill for a vendor who hasn't accepted your invitation yet is paid from your linked bank, never your balance. Its row shows "(held payment)" next to your bank, and the money is released to the vendor once they accept.
- If some bills look like duplicates, you'll be asked to tick "I reviewed [number] possible duplicates" before you can pay.
- If a bill has no source it can use, you'll be asked to pick a bank for it.

## After you click Pay All

You'll see "Payment Results". "All Payments Initiated" means every bill went out. If some didn't, the window shows how many went through and lists the ones that failed with the reason. Open those bills to fix the problem and pay them again.

You can't schedule a bulk payment. To pay a bill on a later date, pay it on its own and turn on **Schedule for Later**. See [How to schedule a payment](https://cleo-pay.com/help/schedule-a-payment).

If a bulk payment shows errors you can't fix, email support@cleo-pay.com with the bill numbers and the error text.
